Monterey is home to many beautiful and wonderful sights. Now you can add a new music festival to that list. Next weekend, August 24th and 25th marks the first annual First City Festival. Goldenvoice has booked over 30 bands to grace the festival's three stages, and we're pretty stoked about the lineup. We've spent a fair amount of time at festivals big and small, and it's refreshing to see an event like this pop up in such a beautiful, remote, yet accessible spot. While some fests lack a local flavor, it looks like First City will have a culture all it's own with an old-time vaudevillian variety stage, carnival rides and games, as well as local beer and wine. Another added plus is the close proximity of both camping and a wide variety of hotels. Tickets are on sale now via the festival’s website.
