Fela!, the hit Broadway musical based on the life of Fela Kuti is releasing an original cast recording this summer. The show has been pretty popular, it’s gotta be pretty interesting to see Fela’s work performed on stage.
The album features Sahr Ngaujah as Fela backed by Antibalas. It will also feature songs performed by Lillias White as Fela’s mother Funmilayo and Saycon Sengbloh as his girlfriend Sandra Isidore.
Has anybody checked out the show? It sounds intriguing.
