I missed my Song of the Day on Tuesday cuz I was driving all over Tennessee but I really wanted to get Phoenix‘s "Lisztomania" up.

Friday night at Bonnaroo they took the stage just after 11 which was about the time Phish went on.  I was happy that there were other bands playing while the headliner was because in the past if you didn’t like Tool or Metallica or Widespread Panic, you had to wait a few hours before another band took the stage.

Phoenix drew a few thousand people to That Tent which was a perfect amount to not get too crowded yet enough people to start a dance party.  They kicked things off with "Lisztomania" and it was just what I needed to loosen up dem bones.  For the rest of the set they went back and forth between new material off Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix and older tracks.  The best part was that we got to dance for an hour and still make it over to catch the whole second set of Phish… which was equally as good.

Check out Phoenix playing "1901" on David Letterman last week too
