The Night Marchers at The Brixton in Redondo Beach

When youre about to start the new year off with the flu, there arent many things that can help you feel stoked to make the transition.
But to my twisted good fortune, a fkin good rock show was the cure I didnt know I needed.

When I first looked at the site for the venue The Brixton, I was like WHAT THE FK? It was like some LA style bar crossed with a Newport Bromance pad. Example: The site has a link of photos called The Ladies of Brixton.enough said.
But when we got there, the dudes at the door were super cool, and the place was a bit grungy.the way I like it. And the sound guy validated my parking when I left.
Thats like a triple word score for that dude. What?
Anyway..

The rock started with The Soft Pack (aka The Muslims). Even though the singer dude looked out of sorts, that band brought the goods. Kind like The Who meets The Jam under a bridge to make out and got busted by Radio Birdman. What? If you like a new version of a past swing, go check them out. Well st even if you dont, go see ’em.
They’re RAD!!! And they started the mood for the gig just right.

Next in line was The Underground Railroad to Candyland. Its was the first time I got to see the full lineup (Drums, Percussion, Guitar, Bass, Keys, And Vocals), and I was stoked I got to. Providing the dance shoes for the night, their punk anthems make you remember why youre into this st in the first place.

There wasnt a non tapping foot the place. It was like we all got transported to a playground and the URTC was pushing the swings, teeter-totter, and merry-go-round all at once. My personal favorite tune Yuppie Hip-Hop Ad is something you just gotta jump to.

And of course the Master of Ceremonies The Night Marchers finalized the deal.
Even thought John looked worn, the boys were in good spirits. And when you have rock tunes that good at your disposal, even fatigue wont keep you from rocking the st out.
The humor ensued, the hooks got dropped and we were all in for the ride.
Man they sounded gooooooooood.

“Closed for Inventory” – “Jump In The Fire” “Bad Blood” – “You’ve Got Nerve”, they just kept coming.
And as I stoked up the final act on what turned out to be the cure for ALL my ills, and John summed up the st knuckle that 2008 was, I realized , My sickness might get a little worse, but with bands like these out therelife is gonna get a whole lot better.

Brown Town
IM OUT!
