Well, it’s my last review as a US based photographer for a while, setting sails and crossing the pond in search of seasons, done with school and now it’s time for a new chapter.

So I think it’s fitting that the last band to review in California is one of my favorites, my good friends and Ventura locals Seth, Trevor, Brian and Bryan of Franklin For Short playing at the Tangier in Los Feliz not too long ago.

Picked up fellow Icelander and photographer Fridgeir at his downtown apartment and we headed out to the club. We showed up just before FFS went on stage and after looking over the room I saw we were with about 5 other people there. But after Seth, FFS’s lead singer, did his stand up routine and pissed off the sound guy people started to pour in and at the end of the set the Tangiers had began to fill up. In addition to Seths stand up the crowd was informed that Billy Corgan had walked into Venturas finest records store Buffalo Records, where Brian the drummer works, on the prowl for a rare LP which he did not walk out with.

Anyways, the night pretty much sums up my last three years living in So Cal, enjoying great easy going music inspired by the surf and the hills surrounding Ventura, with great, hopefully life long, friends; and to top it off, got invited to an after-party which I was not able to go to since UPS was coming the day after to collect the last three years of my life at my door step.

So until next time, keep your chins up!
