Born Ruffians at the Echo

Born Ruffians, a youthful trio hailing from Toronto, made a stop in Los Angeles at The Echo. The Ruffs play a jingle jangly mix of raucous, slightly disjointed indie rock, sounding akin to recent stand-outs Vampire Weekend and Sunset Rubdown.

Born Ruffians played songs off their full length debut, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, but is less shaky and more audible.

Much of the Born Ruffians tunes consist of call-and-response yells, yeahs, and ohs, which is conducive to crowd participation. Though not a sold-out show, the crowd that was there to see Born Ruffians seemed to be devoted fans and sang along to almost all of the songs bopping their heads and dancing around.

Born Ruffians stop in Los Angeles showed promise for their future, with a fanbase that can only grow.
