Wolfmother at Henry Fonda Theater

After getting a $40 parking ticket in Hollywood, the only thing I had to look forward to was going to see three Aussies rip it up at the Henry Fonda Theater. After that awful ticket I sure needed a pick me up and Wolfmother was the perfect fix.

I first saw Wolfmother play a few months back with some of my Ice Cream Crew at the Vice party at SXSW. The Aussies were every bit as energetic tonight as in Texas . Their sound, a smooth mix between Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath, is pure rock and roll at it’s finest. These guys have their sound completely dialed in. Everything from the vocals to the abundance of guitar riffs, is performed like it would have been 30 years ago by the masters of rock.

This Aussie trio is giving today’s rock a real kick in the butt, bringing back the old sound for a new audience. Word on the streets was that tickets for the sold out show were going for a hundred bucks a pop. It’s hard to believe they played Spaceland just a few months ago. From every inch of the venue you could hear them loud and clear, no matter where you were standing. And for me this was another night in Hollywood made perfect by a rock-solid performance. On a side note I would like to thank my lovely friend Crystal for hooking me up for the night, it was quite a treat, thank you.
