Ah…lucky me. Just typed nice update that completely disappeared when I tried to add the video links on the right…damn. It was less than two minutes after I said to Timothy, “this is gonna be a good update”

So, now the abbreviated version…..cause I gotta get working on the Bonnaroo Review.

Started the day off at Holiday World in Santa Claus, Indiana riding their newest roller coaster, The Voyage. T and I tried to get the video camera on but didn’t haven’t much luck. If I hadn’t broke TWO cameras in the last month, we could have worked the point and shoot. To get a good idea of how good The Voyage is, watch this video. We didn’t have much time because we had to get to Chicago for Radiohead. I tried to find the rolling bowling ball game where I won Monkey about six years ago but they had since replaced the game.

Since Bessie doesn’t roll that fast anyways, we decided to take smaller roads all the way to Chicago. Just outside of Vincennes, Indiana I started freaking out. Timothy thought a tornado was on the way but once we made a uturn and he saw the Blue Flash Roller Coaster in the front yard he knew why I was freaking out. Sharon let us take a bunch of pictures but since her husband wasn’t around I wasn’t able to take a spin.

We kept pushing north along the Illinois/Indiana and Central/Easter time border. We couldn’t figure out what time it was in Chicago and once we stopped for a bite to eat about an hour outside of Chi town we realized we didn’t have the extra hour we were hoping for.

It took a while to find a parking space for Bessie in downtown and once we did we started running to the Auditorium Theatre. It was only 8:40 but Radiohead was already on stage. We darted up 5 flights of stairs to the very top balcony and found some seats close to where ours were supposed to be.

Radiohead is the best band I’ve ever seen play. I was glued to handrail in front of us just so I could try to get a few inches closer to the sound. It was a bit washed out way up top but you knew it sounded perfect down below. The set was a bit more upbeat and concise then the two-and-a-half hour Bonnaroo one. They played a bunch of new tracks including a premier of “‘All I Want”. For all those out there debating whether to drop the cash to catch one of their upcoming west coast dates, Do it, there might not be a next time.

Ok, I’ve gotta get back to work right now. Looks like we’ll be heading to Town Hall Pub tonight in Chicago if anyone wants to join in on the fun. Not sure if I’ll be able to work in some cream but….we’ll see. Who out there is in Chicago?
