Clap Your Hands Say Yeah and The Brunettes at the El Rey

I was expecting a huge crowd at the Clap Your Hands Say Yeah show, since it sold out such a long time ago. But, once inside I was able to easily find a good place in front of the stage. It started to get crowded towards the end of the opening bands set, The Brunettes. The best word to describe the New Zealand natives is cute. They have a playground love song sort of feel to many of their songs. If you are a fan of Rilo Kiley type of music you will love The Brunettes.

Everyone was hyped to see Clap Your Hands take the stage. There were even a few of those a^^holes who push and shove others just so they can get closer to the stage. That is one of the reasons why I do not like going places with a lot of people bunched up in a small area. But other than that it was an awesome show. Its no wonder why they are playing sold out shows in almost every city.

Check out another review of CYHSY at the Troubadour with The National and Richard Swift. It was Ice Cream Man’s favorite show last year. We’ll also be covering The National show tonight at the Troubadour, so check back for a review from there.
