Datarock with Ladytron at the Wonder Ballroom in Portland

While the crew was three hours away slingin’ treats at the Sasquatch Festival, I was enjoying a weekend with my in-laws, quietly wishing I could convince everyone to drive the distance to Sasquatch to catch some music and cream. Knowing this would never happen, I convinced my brother-in-law to catch the Datarock and Ladytron show with me at the Wonder Ballroom. It didn’t take much convincing after a look at some of the Norwegian duo's videos on Youtube.

The show was great, and afterwards Datarock’s Fredrik Saroea, a huge fan of ICM, joined us on the patio at Café Wonder for some pints and convo. We imbibed much ale and eventually proceeded to the Doug Fir Lounge, while discussing such things as being on the road with a wife and 2-year-old daughter back home, the lack of appreciation for Lorenzo Lamas’ all-star portrayal of a struggling break-dancer in 1984’s Body Rock, and most revealingly, how Abbey Braden’s early Datarock interview for ICM was one of the most honest they had ever given. Kudos Abbey! Hope you guys enjoy the pics…
