Wow!  Can you believe it that the Vans Warped Tour has been around for 15+ years!  This year they kicked it off in Carson at the Home Depot Center.  Well actually in the parking lot of the Home Depot Center.  Overcast skies welcomed us for our 8 AM load-in into the venue, which always makes you wonder if it will burn off.  It always does and the ice cream slinging was furious for 5 hours straight.  It is always nice to have premium Ben and Jerry’s products on board, especially the Half-Baked and Cherry Garcia Bars.  Summer festivals on black asphalt is all you need to have a successful day.

Stuck at the truck all day, didn’t get to a chance to check out any music, but for the black-clad angst ridden adolescents it was heaven.  But a few artists stopped by to get a cooling treat.  Our good friend Boots Riley with the Street Sweeper Social Scene and Reverand Peyton and his Big Damn Band stopped by for chat and treat.  Thanks to Kate at 4Fini for helping us out.  And to the crew of Laurel, Hannah, and Stephen for slinging and shooting.
